This lesson was inspired by an Artsonia project I LOVED on Pinterest. I knew that the boys in my 5th grade class were not going to go for the traditional valentine project this year, so adding a heart to an Op-Art hand drawing seemed like the perfect compromise! Hi! I'm Cheryl, and I'm a big fan of kids' artwork! For the last 20+ years, I've had the privilege of teaching art to kids from kindergarten through high school.... in public, private, charter, and homeschool settings. Now I'm focusing on mentoring other teachers through demos, workshops, and sharing lessons and more on my blog. I have a degree in art and an art ed credential, but I've learned that you don't need to be an "artist" or have an art background yourself to teach art to kids. All you need are good lessons to follow (like following a recipe) and the willingness to have fun! Over the years, I’ve developed hundreds of successful, classroom-tested art lessons for kids, and all the tips, methods, and strategies to go along with them! My passion now is to make all this available to classroom teachers, homeschool teachers, parents, and grandparents.… to anyone who wants to share the joy of ART with the kids in their life!
