Four years ago, I started Teach Kids Art with the goal of getting all my lesson plans online for others to use, so more kids could have Art in their life. As my collection of lessons grew, I realized my site had to be better organized if anyone could ever hope to find what they were looking for!
So, with that in mind, I decided to move my site from Blogger to WordPress. There I would have more control and more options for cool things I could do with it! Only problem is, I’m not the most “techy” person, so this little project of mine has taken much longer than it probably should have!
But with the help of Google and various online support forums, I’m getting it figured out…. and I’m close! I’m adding lots of categories and tags to make my lessons more searchable and make Teach Kids Art the best resource it can be!
Through this process I’ve been learning a lot! As teachers we’re supposed to model life-long learning, right?? Learning something new and challenging can be frustrating at times, but the rewards are great! Stay tuned, and when I get my new site launched, be sure to stop by and let me know what you think!
What new things have you been learning?
