AOE Online Art Ed ConferenceThe first ever online conference for Art educators is coming soon!

Jessica Balsey and her team at AOE (Art of Education) have put together an exciting line up of high quality presentations for this special event on Monday, June 25th – just for Art teachers. Each presentation will be short (about 10 minutes, like a TED Talk), relevant, and inspiring. Presentations will cover a range of topics from “Pinterest in the Art Room” to “Cross Curricular Planning” to “Adaptations for Students with Autism” and so much more. I’m honored to also be a presenter at this conference with my topic, “Masterpiece Mosaics”, where I’ll show you how you can have success with this fun, collaborative art project for all ages.

Each conference attendee will receive a Certificate of Conference Participation documenting 6 hours of professional development time. If you can’t attend on June 25th, no worries – as a paid attendee, you’ll have exclusive access to conference presentations, handouts, videos, and more for a full year after the conference through a password protected web page.

There will be a mix of live presentations, video presentations, and the ability to chat live in real time with every presenter to get your questions answered. Some of your favorite Art Ed bloggers will be presenting! You can also interact in forums with other Art Teachers from around the country and around the world.  There will be special giveaways and drawings…. you won’t want to miss it!

As a presenter, I’ve had the privilege of a “sneak peak” at a few of the presentations, and they really are great! It was fun to finally “meet” some of the wonderful art teachers whose blogs I’ve been following for quite some time.

If you register by June 11th (tomorrow!) you’ll receive a special USPS mailing from Dick Blick which includes supplies for their interactive presentation. The very last day you can register for the conference is June 23rd, but signing up now (by June 11th) will get you some extra stuff! It’s only $99, and it counts toward your professional development hours. So don’t miss out – register now!

    Hi Cheryl,
I live in Canada and I was wondering if you have many people who sign up for this conference that live far away? Is this something a person could learn from over the summer months or would you need to be available the day of?
    Thanks for your feedback!

Hi Kathy! The beauty of this event is that because it’s online, anyone can attend no matter where they live! The presentations will all be available on a password protected website for an entire year, so you can join us day of, or whenever it’s convenient, and go back as often as you like! I’m impressed by the quality and the amount of work that’s gone into this… I totally recommend it!!

Lisa, you should have received a link to the conference site yesterday. If you didn’t get that, you can email [email protected] and they will get you going!
