New! Artist Birthdays Calendar

Famous Artist Birthday CakeKids love to celebrate birthdays, so what better time to introduce a new artist than on that artist’s birthday? I’ve created a new page on my site to help you plan your artist birthday celebrations! Just click on the “Artist Birthdays” link on my menu bar for a list of birthdays by month, complete with links to lesson plans and wikipedia pages for more helpful info. (Artists pictured… top row, L to R: Paul Cezanne, Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso; bottom row, L to R: Frida Kahlo, Leonardo DaVinci, M.C. Escher)

  1. What a terrific Artist Birthday page. This took you a tremendous amount of time to compile, I am certain. Thank you for sharing it with all of us.

    1. Thanks for your suggestion, Christy. Giotto is one of those artists whose exact date of birth is unknown. I’m trying to decide how to handle those. Maybe a listing at the top for artists with unknown birth dates? What do you think?

  2. Terrific calendar! I’m adding it to my Pinterest site to share! Have you thought about frank Marc, friedensreich hundertwasser and Mary cassat? sorry don’t have details…

  3. Kids love to celebrate birthdays… good method to introduce one artist during their birthdays. Its like two in one method.. learning while doing the art. :-)

    1. Thanks, Christine! I updated the page to include him. Chuck Close is one of my favorites… how did I overlook him??! Thanks so much for suggesting that and sending the link, too!

  4. Who are the 6 artists in the picture. I think I know 3 of them, but am sketchy on the rest.
    Thanks,
