Start the Year with Student Portfolios
I love to start the year by having my students decorate their portfolios! You can make your own portfolios inexpensively, and safely store a whole year’s worth of artwork.
The first time I see each class at the beginning of the school year, I like to read them one of my favorite art-themed kids’ books – then we use that story as inspiration to decorate their portfolios. You can find my portfolio projects for grades K-6 here, along with links to the wonderful stories that inspired them! Stay tuned for my newest portfolio project for middle schoolers…..
ack what are you middle school ideas? We are making our portfolios on this upcoming Thursday and Friday and I would like to give the kids some inspiration for decoration this year (instead of getting 10 million zombie fights and I Heart Justin Beiber designs)
Haha! It's always interesting to see what those middle schoolers will be inspired by! I'll get my lesson plan up for you soon!
