Welcome to My Blog!

First of all, this blog is a work in progress. I realized that if I waited to post anything until it felt perfect, it would never happen. As a friend of mine likes to say, “Accept great. Perfectionism leads to procrastination.” Since those are two character traits I’m constantly working to overcome, I decided to just go for it with my blog. So, here goes!

“TeachKidsArt” arose from my desire to share what I’ve learned over many years of teaching Art to kids. During this time I’ve accumulated tons of successful lesson plans, techniques, theories, and fun ideas which I now hope to share with others who can use them.

This blog is for art teachers, classroom teachers (who find themselves teaching art), home school teachers, parents who enjoy doing art with their kids, and anyone else who shares the belief that Art is essential to a well-rounded education. As I said, this blog is a work in progress, so expect lots of changes. I sincerely hope there will be something of value for everyone who reads it.
