two examples of first grade “Alphabet Soup Art”
It’s official…. everyone LOVES Alphabet Soup Art! From first graders to sixth graders, the responses were all the same – this project is a hit!! A few of the youngest students had to be reminded to connect their letters, but other than that most students were able to work independently. This project is a natural for differentiated instruction…. each student can take it to whatever level they choose. Students themselves were coming up with ideas for extensions and variations on the basic alphabet theme. Try one yourself…. these really are FUN!!

Nice. Looks like stained glass, and they get practice with letters.

Thank you for this idea! I used it today with my 1st graders. Some had a hard time and others got it. I am going to let them do it one more time, I think, and see if the results are better across the board.

I’m sitting at my desk. It’s lunchtime. I realize that half of my first graders have finished a lesson and the other half needs to finish. Resulting from a search, I landed on your blog. I’m going to try the alphabet lesson and see how it goes. jan
