Summer is here, and I’ve created two new “Teacher Workshops” which I’ll be presenting in July at Palace Art in Capitola, California.  If you happen to live on the Central Coast, I hope you can join us!  (Each workshop will be offered twice!)

Join us for:
 Teach Kids Art:
Haiku Tunnel Books

Tues. July 12, 9am-11am OR Sat. July 23, 9am-11am • $20 fee
(Fee includes printed lesson plan and all materials.)
In this workshop you will…
• use a postcard as your inspiration to write a haiku
• illustrate your haiku with a fun, 3D “tunnel book”
• leave with a sample you’ll be proud of, ready to teach this project to your own students!
Also, join us for:
Teach Kids Art:
Inspired by the Art of Haiti
Sat. July 16, 9am-noon OR Tues. July 26, 9am-noon • $30 fee*
(Fee includes printed lesson plans and all materials)
* All proceeds from the Haiti workshops will be donated to an orphanage in Titanyen, Haiti.

In this workshop you will…
• create three projects inspired by the metal art, collage, and colorful paintings of Haiti
• leave with samples and complete lesson plans, prepared to teach these projects to your own students!
(All proceeds from this workshop will benefit Jesus’ Name Orphanage in Titanyen, Haiti.)
Esaie Jean Louis, founder of Jesus’ Name Orphanage and the amazing kids I had the privilege to work with over my Spring Break this year!
For more information about these workshops, click here and look for the link to “GET THE FLYER”.  Seating is limited!  Register today at Palace Art, 1501 41st Avenue, Capitola, California, or by calling 831-464-2700.

Have you ever thought of trying to get credit for your classes? I did this with my online courses for art teachers and people really appreciated that. I contacted a professional development branch of a university to get started. Just an idea!

These workshops look like such fun. I know, though, that the very best part will be the teachers enjoying each others' company.

I love the tunnel books! This is such a great idea for arts integration in the classroom. Thanks for sharing! If I wasn't out here in Maryland, I'd attend. :)

Yes, Jessica… it’s been on my list! I have a pdf I’m just finishing up right now, then I’ll do the tunnel books next, since you asked! :-)
