Easy DIY Handmade Envelopes to fit any size card!

With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, I wanted to share this super-easy DIY envelope you can make to fit any size card!

How many times have you or your students created a wonderful hand-made card for Valentine’s Day (or Christmas, Birthday, Mother’s Day, etc.) and then delivered it in an envelope that didn’t fit correctly, or worse yet, no envelope at all??!

An envelope that fits well is the finishing touch to any hand-made card. And the good news is, these envelopes are so easy to make you don’t even need a ruler! All you need is a square piece of paper a little larger than your card in both directions, scissors, and a glue stick. You can even add a colorful insert to line your envelope, for that extra touch of class and charm!

Once you learn this simple technique, it’s easy to make a custom envelope for any card with no measuring necessary! Click here for the complete directions.

I have already given my students a do-at-home Valentines art project. Now that I have stumbled over your easy envelope project I will add that to their project next year. I will supply the paper, already measured for the smallish stock cards they find in the supermarket and they can fold and decorate the envelopes for the cards they share. I will, of course, send home your directions so that they can make any size they want if they are doing other cards at home.
